Established in 1769, Rutgers University is a public research university. They are considered the largest university in New Jersey with over 67,000 students enrolled in their programs. Rutgers offers over 100 bachelor’s, 100 master, and 80 doctoral and professional degrees. They are the eighth oldest institution in the nation. Rutgers has three campuses: New Brunswick, Newark and Camden. Their New Brunswick campus is the oldest and largest campus of Rutgers. 

Rutgers Business School offers multiple master’s program related to accounting. They have a Master of Accounting in Financial Accounting, Professional Accounting, Government Accounting, and Taxation. The Professional Accounting program is a part-time program designed for those who don’t have an accounting background but wish to pursue an advance accounting degree. The Government Accounting program is a 100% online, part-time program. This program is great for government employees who desire to get a more in depth knowledge into accounting. Their Financial Accounting program is a hybrid program designed to study in the classroom and online. All programs are 30 credit hours and flexible. Rutgers School of Business is accredited by the AACSB, the leading business accreditation.

Seton University is a private Roman Catholic university founded in 1856, by Bishop James Roosevelt Bayley. They are the oldest diocesan institution in the nation. Seton consists of 11 colleges and schools that offer over 90 programs. They currently have over 10,000 students enrolled in their undergraduate and graduate programs. Bloomberg Businessweek has ranked them in the top 75 undergraduate business schools. 

The Stillman School of Business is accredited by the AACSB. Stillman offers a MBA program in Accounting and a Master of Science in Accounting program. Their MBA program will cover areas in business with a vigorous study in accounting. The MSAC program offers specialized concentration in forensic accounting, governmental and not-for-profit accounting, or tax problems of partners and partnerships. Both programs can be taken full-time or part-time. They offer flexible and small class sizes to meet student needs.

Founded in 1942, Fairleigh Dickinson University is a private nonsectarian university. They have four campuses, two in New Jersey, one in Vancouver and one in the United Kingdom. With over 12,000 students, Fairleigh Dickinson is the largest private university in New Jersey. They offer over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs. U.S. News and World Report has ranked them 69th for Regional Universities in the North.

The Silberman College of Business offers two tracks for their Master of Accounting program. The first track is distend for students who an concentration or undergraduate degree in accounting. The second track is designed for students without a background in accounting. Some of the things the program focuses on are analyzing accounting problems, evaluating quality accounting information, and integrating technology into accounting. The first track is 3o credit hours, but the second track students will need to take additional courses. Silberman College of Business is accredited by the AACSB, the gold standard for business school accreditation.

Founded in 1908, Montclair State University is a public research institution. They are the second largest university in New Jersey. They offer over 250 majors, minors and concentrations from their seven schools. Montclair was recognized as a Doctoral Research Institution in 2016 by the Carnegie classification of Higher Education. They are ranked among the top 200 national universities by U.S. News and World Report.

The Feliciano School of Business is accredited by the AACSB. Their MS in Accounting program covers the complexities and in depth understanding of accounting and tax practices. Students will also develop technical skills, communication skills and a strong knowledge in accounting theories. The program consists of 33 credit hours, which is 11 courses. Their program starts in the fall and spring but applications are processed all throughout the year. Those students who wish to sit for the CPA exam after finishing the master’s program will receive a discount from Becker’s CPA Review course.

Founded in 1865, Rider University is a nonsectarian private university. Their campus is located in Mercer County in the city of Lawrenceville. Their five academic colleges offer 67 undergraduate and 35 graduate programs. In 2017 Rider was ranked 23rd for Regional Universities North by U.S. News and World Report. 

The College of Business offers a Master of Accountancy program that is accredited by the AACSB. Most students in this program are part-time but they do allow students to enroll full-time. Mccc program offers courses in the evening with some afternoon courses. There are also limited number of Saturday courses offered. Students can choose a concentration in Forensic Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics or Global Business. This program will give students the opportunity develop a certain area of interest that will meet their professional career goals.
