As the fifth oldest university, Texas A&M was founded in 1889.  They started as the East Texas Normal College and had a couple of name changes before becoming Texas A&M-Commerce in 1996.  Under the Texas A&M system their Commerce location is the second largest school.  They offer 144 fields of study in their undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs.  Their McFarland Science Building includes a planetarium and offer over a 120 organizations and clubs.  

The program is designed so that students without an accounting background can also apply.  The program allows students to seek careers in government, public and private enterprises.  Students without an undergraduate accounting degree will need to take 43 credits of graduate courses.  Those with prior courses in accounting may forgo their foundation courses upon approval.  In order for students to receive their master’s degree they will need to pass a comprehensive accounting exam. It is 45 multiple choice questions and one essay and needs to be finished in a 2 ½ hour period.  Students will have two chances to pass with a 80% or higher score and after that, the department head will decide if a third chance is given.  If the student does not pass after the third attempt they will not be allowed their master’s degree.  They are accredited by the AACSB for both their online and on-campus accounting programs.

Students will need to submit a GRE/GMAT score unless they have a 3.0 overall GPA.  They will also need to submit all official transcripts used for their undergraduate degree and a letter of recommendation.  Applications for the program are accepted all year long.

Founded in 1966, SUNY Polytechnic Institute is a public research institution.  SUNY Poly offers three doctoral, 15 master’s and 30 bachelor’s degrees.  Their online program offers synchronous, asynchronous and hybrid courses. Their synchronous courses are online with concurrent sessions through webinar live.  Their asynchronous courses are all online and do not need to meet online or in-person and their hybrid courses are a mix of online with remote meeting or on campus meetings. SUNY Poly offers an online master’s accounting program.  This program is geared towards students who have an undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent.  Students will take 33 credit hours in courses helping them achieve their career goals.  This program can be taken fully online and students can choose to study part time or full time.  Students who are thinking about sitting for the CPA exam will meet the 150 credit hour requirement.

A GMAT score along with transcripts and a professional or academic reference form will be required for admissions into the program.  Students without a bachelor’s in accounting will need to take prerequisite courses.  Their business school and online program is accredited by the AACSB.

Founded in 1766, Rutgers University started as an all-male Queens college in New Brunswick.  By 1864 they became the State’s land grant establishment.  They were established to provide a way to educate a broad variety of students for the nation’s jobs in factories, farms and companies .  Today they are a comprehensive public institution.  Rutgers is a leader in research and the eighth oldest university in the nation.  Located in New Jersey, their three campuses are in Newark, Camden and New Brunswick.  With more than 67,000 students enrolled, Rutgers offers over 300 undergraduate and graduate programs.  

Rutgers Business School offers a Master of Accountancy in Governmental Accounting.  U.S. News and World Report ranked their online graduate business program #14 in the nation. Their online program can be finished completely online and require no GMAT. They are the first to offer an advanced degree in government accounting  This program is designed for students who wish to seek employment in government accounting, auditing, and financial management.  Rutgers also offers a certificate program that can be credited towards their master’s program.  Students wishing to take in classroom courses along with online course can get approval by the director.  The courses can be taken at their New Brunswick and Newark campuses.  This program is part-time and mets the 150 credit requirement to sit for the CPA.  Students are admitted in both their fall and spring semesters.  Students will need to submit transcripts for all institutions attended along with an essay and two letters of recommendation.  They will also be required to submit their resume.

Located near the state’s capitol, California State University, Sacramento is known as the Capitol’s University.  They were founded in 1947 as Sacramento State College.  They have seven academic colleges with 58 undergraduate programs.  Nominated a tree campus, they have over 3,500 tree planted on their 300 acre campus.  

Students admitted into the online MSA program have an average GPA of 3.2 and a GMAT score of 585.  They will also need to submit two letters of recommendation and a current resume.  Students without an accounting undergraduate will need to take foundation courses before starting their program courses.  These foundation courses are graduate level and can only be taken after admittance into the program.  The foundation courses will not count towards their 30 credit hour MSA degree requirements.  

The MSA program at CSU Sacramento will prepare students to take the CPA exam.  They will cover topics such as Auditing Attestation, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Regulation, and Business Environments and Concepts.  The online program uses instant messaging and video streaming to give students their study materials.  The program can be completed in 18 months for full time students.  With live chat hours, full audio lectures, and lecture notes as well as other resources, students are able to succeed.  They are fully accredited by the AACSB.

Considered one of the top public universities in the U.S., the University of Connecticut was founded in 1881.  Two brothers donated to the school and was named after them as the Storrs Agricultural School.  In 1939 they changed the name of the school to the University of Connecticut.  UConn’s e-campus offers undergraduate, graduate, and certificates online.  They are accredited by the NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges).

Courses taken traditionally or online bear no difference in credits.   Student transcripts do not decipher if students have taken online or traditional courses.  The MSA program at the University of Connecticut starts once a year in May.  Students will need to take a four day in residence class at the beginning of the program which is mandatory.  Students have the option of going full-time, taking 10 courses over two to three semesters or a part-time option where students will take 10 courses over multiple semesters.  The program consists of two required courses and eight electives.  They are accredited by the AACSB.

Founded as Trenton Business College in 1865 as a private college.  In 1921 they changed their name to Rider College and then in 1994 they were granted university status.  Rider University received the AACSB specialized accreditation in accounting in 2000.  They offer 65 undergraduate and 35 graduate degrees and have over 5,000 students enrolled.  

Rider has two campuses in New Jersey, one in Lawrenceville and the other in Princeton.  The campuses are close enough to Philadelphia and New York.  Riders Moore Library has over 451,000 print volumes along with 661,000 microforms and their Princeton campus which supports the Westminster Choir College houses more than 82,000 scores and music related books at the Talbott Library.  

Students will need to complete prerequisite accounting courses before applying to the Master of Accountancy program.  The courses needed are Intermediate Accounting I and II, Advanced Accounting, Cost, Federal Taxation, and Auditing.  Students will need GMAT/GRE score and a GPA of 3.3 and an accounting GPA of 3.3 or better.  Waiving the GMAT score will be considered for students who have professional experience.  This online program is geared towards accounting professionals.  

The MAcc program prepares students to sit for the CPA, CMA, CIA and CFE exams.  They will also have a choice to study a concentration in fraud and forensic accounting if that is the career path they choose.  Students will have access to the top accounting firms and companies as they network and build relationships.  The program can be finished in as little as 16 months.

The MSA online program at UM-Flint is a mix mode program. Florida Atlantic University is located in Boca Raton and was established in 1961.  They have five satellite campuses located in Florida.  They are the first public university to open their doors in southeast Florida.  They offer over 180 programs and have more than 30,000 students enrolled all their campuses.  

Their Boca Raton campus is located near the Atlantic Ocean on 850 acres of land.  They are nestled conveniently between Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach.  With computer labs, study lounges and a five story library, students will have the support needed to succeed in their academic career.

University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business has been accredited by the AACSB since 1949.  Their online Master of Professional Accountancy program prepares students who wish to pursue careers in public accounting and want to sit for the CPA exam.  They program meets the 150 credit hour requirement to sit for the exam.  Students should check their state’s licensing board for specific exam requirements.

The Peter J. Tobin School of Business offers a online M.S. in Accounting and a M.S. in Taxation.  Students are able to earn a degree in as little as a year and have the flexibility to learn at their own pace.  The program is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in business.  To apply the program, students will need to send official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools, along with GMAT scores taken within the last five years, a current resume, type written letter of intent, and two letters of recommendation.

As Kansas’ first teacher training school, Emporia State University was chartered in 1863. They were originally named Kansas State Normal School and became Emporia State University in 1977.  They are a public four-year university and the third oldest university in the state.  They have flat rate tuition, which means students can take an overload and pay the same amount.  The University is made up of four colleges, the College of Business, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Library of Information and Management, and the Teacher’s College.  Emporia has over 6,000 students enrolled in their academic programs.

The Master of Accountancy program at Emporia is accredited by the AACSB.  Students who have a GPA of 3.5 or higher from an accredited AACSB school can get a waiver for the GMAT.  The program is fully online and is 30 credit hours.  Students also have the option of

The University of Miami’s Master’s in Professional Accounting has three start dates.  The program is intended for professional working students who have a business background but little to no accounting coursework.  They have a separate track for students with an accounting background.  Each course is four credits and seven weeks long.  Students will need to complete 32-40 credit hours of coursework to graduate.  The program meets the requirements for the CPA Exam but also prepares students who wish to pursue other certifications such as the Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).  This program is accredited by the AACSB.

Established in 1919, Western New England University gained university status in 2011.  They are located in Springfield, Massachusetts, and are a private institution.  There are over 3,900 students enrolled in their academic programs.  Their 215 acre campus is four miles from downtown Springfield.  A lot of the campus is still undeveloped with forest and open space.  With the growing school, they have expanded their neuroscience laboratory and STEM facilities.  

The College of Business at Western New England University offers an online master’s in accounting with the option to blend online courses with in-class sessions.  This 30 credit hour program can be completed in as little as 15 month for part-time evening students.  Full time students are able to finish in 10 months.  Students also have the option to specialize in Forensic Accounting/Fraud Investigation which is considered the fastest growing area in accounting.  This program satisfies the CPA exam requirements in Massachusetts and Connecticut.  They are accredited by the AACSB.

Students do not need an undergraduate accounting degree to enter into this program but will need to take eight foundation courses.  These courses can be completed at Western New England or another accredited institution.  A GMAT or GRE score is also needed for admission.

An evangelical Christian institution, Indiana Wesleyan University is a comprehensive private university.  They were founded in 1920 and is the largest private college in Indiana.  IWU has close to 3,000 students enrolled in their residential campus.  Their 350 acre campus is located in Marion.  Their adult education program has received national recognition.  IWU offers over 80 degrees in their undergraduate, graduate and doctoral program.  Their online program has over 10,000 adult learners in their education centers and online.  They are accredited by the higher learning commission.

IWU offers a MSA program online.  Students are able to complete their master’s program in 18-26 months.  They will need to submit transcripts from an accredited university and have an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or higher.  It is strongly recommended students pass the following classes successfully, Taxation, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Auditing and Statistics before starting the program.  The classes meet once per week or online.  Students will be able to have a thorough understanding of accounting theory and principles, use financial data to make business decisions and become effective communicators.  The program not only helps students with the tangible knowledge of accounting but help students understand ethical issues that arise in the business world.

Regis University is one of the 28 Jesuit universities in the nation. The MSA program at regis is an accelerated program that meets the 150 credit requirement to sit for the CPA exam.  Their on-campus and online program 30 credit hour program is asynchronous.  Depending on the student’s background, they may need to take seven foundation courses.  Students can have them waived if they show academic proficiency and approval from their academic advisor.  Program start dates are January, March, May, June, August and October.  Courses are eight weeks long and start every eight weeks.  Students wishing to apply to this program will need to send in GMAT scores, resume and a minimum of two years of business work experience, two recommendations from colleagues or supervisors, and transcripts from their undergraduate program.

Founded in in 1970 by Bernie and Rita Turner, wanted to provide a way for adults in the workforce to pursue their doctoral degrees.  They are a for-profit, private, four-year university.  They have over 47,800 students enrolled in their online programs.  The offer a wide variety of disciplines for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees.  They are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.  

Walden University offers a MS in Accounting online.  The program will help students to analyze and critically think about business problems.  They will cover subjects that are relevant to the ever changing accounting field.  Depending on their career path students are able to choose from three different specializations.  They are Accounting for the Professional, Accounting with CPA Emphasis, and Self Designed.  The MS in Accounting program is 30 credit hours and all students will take the same core courses.  They are accredited by the ACBSP.

University of Maryland University College is a public university established in 1947 as a continuing education institution.  They are located in the city of Adelphi.  Students can attend classes at Satellite locations across the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area and across Maryland.  They have over 90,000 students enrolled around the world and are the largest online higher education institutions around the world.  UMUC has a 100% acceptance rate for undergraduate programs.  They offer 120 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs that are led by instructors and online.  UMUC is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.  

The Master of Science in Accounting and Financial Management program at UMUC is a 36 credits. Students will have to complete 15 undergraduate credits in accounting before enrolling in any graduate courses.  Students will take five accounting courses, six financial management courses and one capstone class.  Students will take courses such as Federal Taxation, Auditing and Financial Accounting.  The capstone course taken at the end of the program uses all the knowledge gained from prior coursework and applies them through presentation and analysis of case studies.   Students should make sure there are no prerequisites need to be taken before taking upper level courses.  This program may meet the CPA exam requirements but students should contact their state licensing board before starting this program.

Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Nova Southeastern University is a four-year private university founded in 1964.  They are classified as a research university  “high research activity” by the Carnegie Foundation. They have almost 24,000 students enrolled in their 16 academic colleges from associate’s to doctoral degrees.

The Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship offers full-time, part-time, weekday, weekend, evening or online courses.  They are the largest MBA and Master of Accounting programs in Florida.  Students can choose degree programs in accounting, finance, public administration and much more.  Their business school is accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).  

The Master of Accounting program at Nova prepares students to pursue a successful career in the different areas of accounting such as government, public, nonprofit and financial institutions.  Students will gain a deep understanding of accounting principles and concepts.  They will learn to apply this knowledge to real world situations in the business industry.  This program is geared towards working professionals in the accounting field.  The 39 credit hours program can be finished in 21 months.  Students with little accounting background can finish foundation courses online and may take longer to finish the degree.  The program has three start dates in August, January, and May.  This program meets the CPA exam requirements.

A non-profit, private, four-year college, New England College was established in 1946 to serve the needs of  servicemen and women attending college on the G.I. Bill after the war.  Located in the town of Henniker, New Hampshire, they are 20 minutes from the state capital.  NEC is regionally accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.  Currently NEC offers 36 Bachelor’s, 12 Master’s and one Doctoral program.  

NEC’s online Master of Science in Accounting program is designed for professionals.  A 40 credit hour program, students will learn to analyze, problem solve, and critically think through taxation, auditing, risk analysis and much more.  This program will prepare students to confidently take the CPA exam.  The CPA exam requirements are met through this program for most states.  The flexibility of online learning allows professionals to balance work, family and studies.  The program can be finished in less than two years.  They have a rolling start date, so students can start every seven weeks.  This allows them to immediately enter the program.

Located in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, Gardner Webb University is a non-profit four-year private university. Affiliated with the Baptist they are a Christian University dedicated to preparing students to “make significant contributions to God and humanity in the ever-changing global community”.  They offer almost 60 undergraduate and graduate academic programs.  They have nearly 5,000 students in their day program, graduate studies and DCP program.

Western Governors University is an online, non-profit, private university.  Founded in 1997 by 19 U.S. governors, they use a  competency based learning model.  WGU is made up of four colleges that offer undergraduate and graduate degrees.  With a rolling semester, students are able to start the first of every month.  Terms start every six weeks but students are able to go at their own pace.  To assist students, they have peers working in the same time frame so they can participate in one class discussions and meetings.  WGU is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU).  

A MSA degree from Western Governors University will provide students with the skill set needed to succeed in their career.  Students will need to complete 30 competency units and takes around 1.5 to 2 years.  The pace a student finishes the program depends on how fast they pass assessments.  Students will have a faculty mentor who will help them design a personalized plan to help them develop a pace they can move through the program.  Students can complete as much work as they want to in a six month period.  They will advance through the program by showing their proficiency in each subject area.

Founded in 1887 by the Benedictine monks of St. Procopius Abbey, Benedictine University is a liberal arts four-year private Catholic university.  They offer 56 undergraduate, 15 graduate, and four doctoral degree programs.  They are located 25 miles west of downtown Chicago on a 108 acre wooded campus.  They also have 2 branch campuses, 11 Illinois class sites, 3 class sites in China, and 2 class sites in Vietnam.  

Benedictine University offers a MBA in Accounting program online.  The MBA with a concentration in Accounting focuses on financial and managerial accounting as well as the influence business decisions have on taxes, and the practice and theory of financial reporting.  The program is 16 courses, which requires three concentration courses along with foundation and managerial process coursework.  The concentration courses are Corporate Accounting Theory and practice I and II and Tax Influence in Decision Making.  This program will help professionals who desire a MBA career in accounting related work to succeed.

Founded by a retired Marine Corps officer in 1991, to provide affordable education to U.S. armed forces.  American Public University and American Military University is housed under the American Public University System.  Today they provide online education to military, public services, and corporate professionals.  They offer 100% online courses that start every eight or sixteen weeks.  Students can choose from over a 190 degrees and certificates in their undergraduate and graduate levels.  They are accredited by the Higher Learning Council.

The Master of Science in Accounting degree is accredited by the ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs).  They are a 36 credit hour program which include nine institutional requirements, 12 Core requirements, 12 major requirements, and one capstone course.  Some of the objectives students will learn to use Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), understand ethical principles used by the AICPA, and assess and analyze financial data.  With this degree students will gain a richer and more in depth understanding of accounting concepts and be able to practice this knowledge in a business setting.  

Students will need a bachelor’s degree to enter the graduate program.  They will need to submit official transcripts from an accredited program.  Students will need to show they completed Auditing, Cost or Managerial Accounting, Individual Taxation, and Intermediate Accounting.  Students who have a bachelor’s from a program that is not accredited by the ACBSP, AACSB, or IACBE will need to take the following pre-admission courses, Global Management Perspective, Managerial Analysis, and Quantitative Analysis.

Liberty University is a non-profit, private Christian university.  Founded in 1971 by Jerry Farwell, he envisioned students graduating from this college and impacting the world for God.  They became a fully accredited university in 1980 by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  In 1985 they were recognized as a fully accredited institution and that year they launched their distance learning program.  

Liberty University’s online program offers over 250 academic programs.  Their programs are taught with an Christian worldview and have the lowest tuition rates for top online universities.  The 30 credit hour MSA program can be finished in two years.  This program helps students meet the 150 credit hour CPA exam requirements.  The program develops strong written and oral communication skills, a well rounded understanding of federal and international accounting practices, and an in-depth study of accounting, auditing and taxation.  Understanding the importance of ethics, the faculty at Liberty emphasize ethical decision making in accounting practices.  Students will need to take prerequisite courses if they do not have undergraduate accounting coursework.  They may have to take up to seven courses before starting the program.

Located in on 474 acres of land in Standish, Maine, Saint Joseph’s College is a Catholic, private liberal arts college founded in 1912.  They are about 2 hours north of Boston.  Saint Joseph’s is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.  The school is focused on learning inside and outside of the classroom with strong community-based programs.  Their online program was started in 1976 and offer undergraduate and advanced degrees as well as certificates.  

Saint Joseph’s online Master of Accountancy program is 36 credit hours and intended for students with a background in business or a similar foundation in business.  Students without a business degree will need to take up to five prerequisite courses.  The prerequisite courses prepare students for the graduate program.  The courses are ten weeks long and have start dates in January, March, May, July and October, so students can begin immediately.  Students with an undergraduate accounting degree may be able to waive six credit hours if they earned a B or better in Intermediate Accounting I and II.  If this is the case they have the opportunity to Fast Track into the Master program and will need to complete 30 credit hours instead of the required 36 credits.

Saint Leo University is a private, four-year Catholic university.  They are a liberal arts university founded in 1889 and then reestablished in 1959.  They are ranked one of the best regional universities in the South by U.S. News and World Report.  Saint Leo University has over 15,000 students enrolled in their on-campus and distance learning programs.  Students can choose from more than 40 different programs.  They are regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.  

The MAcc program at Saint Leo University is developed to prepare students for the CPA exam.  The curriculum was developed using the CPA exam requirements as a guideline along with other well established programs.  The curriculum helps students analyze financial reports, identify legal issues in the business world, understand tax laws and apply them and much more.  The program is 30 credit hours and students without an accounting background may need to take additional courses to meet the CPA exam requirements.  Students who want a more broad degree can choose their MBA program with an concentration in accounting.  The MBA focuses more on general business foundations and the MAcc focuses more comprehensive understanding of accounting.

Located in central New York, Syracuse University was established in 1870 by the Genesee Wesleyan Seminary.  They are a private, nonprofit four-year university.  Syracuse has over 21,000 students enrolled in their program.  They consider themselves to be non-sectarian but still maintain a relationship with the United Methodist Church.  They have 13 schools and colleges and have nationally recognized programs such as information studies and library sciences.  Syracuse is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Learning.  

Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management offers a Master of Science in Accounting degree online.  Their online format is asynchronous with their on-campus program and alumni have gone to work for top accounting firms and companies.  Students will be placed into one of the three customized sequences of study depending on their educational background.  The three sequences are the Accounting sequence for students with an undergraduate background, the Business sequence for students with an undergraduate in business , and the Foundational sequence for students who have an undergraduate or graduate degree in other majors other than accounting or business.   Each sequence will vary in how many credits the student will need to graduate with the foundational sequence needing the most credits.  The school will determine which sequence they will need to take after admission into the program.

The Accounting Sequence is 30 credits, while the business sequence is 33-42 credits depending on what undergraduate courses the student took.  The foundational sequence is 45-48 credits with students developing foundational business and accounting skills first.  Students in all the sequences will need to take taxes and business strategy, international business and reporting, financial statement analysis and auditing theory and practice along with electives that accommodate their career goals.

Golden Gate University is the fourth oldest private university in California chartered in 1901.  They are a nonprofit university located in San Francisco with additional campuses in Silicon Valley, Seattle and Los Angeles.  Along with their weekend and evening courses, Golden Gate offers online degrees for a majority of their programs.  They currently have over 5,000 students enrolled and over 68,000 alumni.  They are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges a regional accreditation.  

The Edward S. Ageno School of Business offers a Master of Accountancy program that is designed for students to succeed in their CPA and CMA career.  This program can be taken by students with or without an accounting background.  The program will meet the CPA requirements for most students.  The online program can take 2-4 years to complete depending on how fast the student completes the courses.  The 45 credit MAc program allows students to choose from three concentrations, General Accounting, Forensic Accounting or Taxation.  Depending on which career path students are thinking about will determine which path they will want to take.  There are 12 credits in proficiency courses students will need to take or they can transfer credits from an accredited institution if they have already taken them.

Established in 1965, Colorado Technical University is a for-profit, private four-year university.  Their main campus is located in Colorado Springs and have two other campuses in Denver.  They are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.  In 1995 CTU launched their online learning program.  

The MSA program at Colorado can be taken online or at their Colorado Spring and Denver locations.  The 48 credit hours program is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in accounting.  Students will gain the knowledge needed to pursue careers in the government, industry or public accounting.  This program is not designed to prepare students for the CPA or CMA exam but does encompass the knowledge areas of the uniform CPA and CMA certification.  Students are able to access curriculum, grades, and assignments on any device anywhere.  Their online program allows for students interaction through discussion boards, live chats and presentations.  Their business program is accredited by the ACBSP.

Founded in 1902, Franklin University started under the sponsorship of the YMCA School of Commerce.  In 1933 they changed their name to Franklin University.  The university has five campuses in Ohio and Indiana as well as online courses.  They are the second largest private university in Ohio.  They are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).  

The MSA program at the Ross College of Business is a 30 semester hour program with two tracks to choose from  After taking the core courses students will be able to choose a taxation track or a financial operations track.  The taxation track will focus on corporate and individual taxation policies while the financial operations track will examine areas in auditing, forensic accounting, data mining and risk analysis and management to name a few.  Students will be able to finish the program in 17 months.  At the end of the program students will have the foundational comprehension to sit for the CPA exam.  The program is 100% online and students will not need to take the GMAT or GRE for admission.

Post University is a private, for-profit institution located in Waterbury, Connecticut.  They were founded in 1890 as the Matoon Shorthand School.  They offered courses in typing, bookkeeping, business writing in the beginning.  After some name changes, they became Post University in 2004.  Today they have over 25 undergraduate and graduate programs offered at their main campus, three satellite centers and online.  

The MSA program at Post University provides students with a strategic and critical thinking skills needed to succeed in their accounting career.  Students will have access online to a network of students, professors, and accountants to interact with and help successfully finish the program.  Students without an undergraduate accounting degree will need to take eight prerequisite courses before starting the program.  The MSA program is 30 credit hours with 18 credits being accounting foundations, 9 credits in management foundation and three credits in a capstone course.  Students will gain a deeper knowledge of accounting theories and concepts and they will learn to apply the knowledge into real world settings.

Southern New Hampshire University is a private, nonprofit university founded in 1932.  There main campus is located in Manchester and they have regional centers in New Hampshire and Maine.  They provide higher education to over 60,000 online students and more than 3,000 on-campus students.  They are accredited regionally by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.  Their business school is accredited by the ACBSP.  

SNHU offers a Master of Accounting degree that can be finished in as little as 15 months.  The program is designed to help students succeed in the career as accountants, auditors, financial analyst and much more.  The master’s program has three concentrations students can choose from, Auditing, Forensic Accounting and Taxation.  This program meets the 150 credit hour requirement needed to sit for the CPA.  Students will gain a better understanding of accounting theories and practices, informed decision making in cost analysis and tax preparation.  Students without an undergraduate accounting degree may need to take additional courses.  No GMAT is required to apply for the program.

Established in 1968 with only 194 students, Wilmington University is a private, nonprofit institution.  Today they enroll more than 18,000 students and offer undergraduate and graduate degrees.  Their classes are in 15 week, 7 week, and weekend formats.  Located in New Castle, Delaware, they offer almost 100 degree and certificate programs across their seven colleges.  Wilmington University also offers over 95 online degree, concentrations and certificates.

Accredited by the IACBE, the Master of Accounting program is designed to meet the requirements of the CPA exam but also lays a foundation for the CMA and CFE exam.  The MS in Accounting curriculum consists of 10 courses, eight core courses touch on core accounting theories and practices.  Students will gain a in-depth understanding of accounting and how it relates to the business world.  The remaining two courses are electives that can be taken from the business graduate program.  Students will need to take undergraduate and graduate prerequisite courses before starting the MS in Accounting program.
